Overview
Each player has a set of duck cards numbered 1-12 laid out randomly in a 3x4 grid in front of them. The large number on the card is the card number, and the small number is the splash number.
There's a draw deck of 26 cards: 2 sets of cards numbered 1-12 + 1 Max card + 1 Repeat card. This is called the Captain deck
Each turn, you will move a card/stack in your grid that matches the number drawn from Captain deck.
After 3 rounds, the player with the fewest Splashes showing on their grid wins!
Game Play
Each turn, a card is drawn from the Captain deck.
Look for that card number (or stack of cards with that card number on top) in your grid. Then either:
- COVER ~ Move your card/stack of cards ONTO an adjacent card / stack of cards (orthogonally, not diagonally)
- DUCK ~ Move your card/stack to any empty space that is adjacent to at least one other card (can be within OR outside the 3x4 grid)
- QUACK ~ If your number card isn't showing in the grid, you say "Quack!" (which BGA will nicely take care of) and take no action
If all players said "Quack!", that card will be discarded. Cards in discarded area will always be visible.
Special Cards
MAX ~ Everyone must move their highest card/stack
REPEAT ~ Everyone must move the same card/stack as last time
~ If the Repeat card is the first card drawn from the Captain deck, it's discarded from the game. ~ If the Repeat card is drawn right after a card put in the discard pile, discard the Repeat card.
Round End
A round ends when
1) One or more players managed to stack all their cards into a single deck, or
2) The specific number of cards have been discarded (varies depending on the number of players)
Round Score
If you have more than one card/stack in your grid: Add up the splash points visible in your grid.
If you only have ONE card or stack in your grid: Your score is the NEGATIVE value of the splash point on the card showing.
That is your round score.
Game End
The game ends after 3 rounds. The player with the lowest score after three rounds wins the game.
Tie: The player with the least number of cards in their grid wins.
Still tied: Share the victory!
